BEAUTY ON A BUDGET | My Favourite Affordable Makeup Brands

I love treating myself to an expensive, luxury makeup product but something I love a little more than that is shopping from my favourite budget makeup brands. Today's blog post focuses on just a few of my favourite affordable brands.

It should come as no surprise to you all the NOTE Cosmetics made the cut considering how much I rave about them. I genuinely, hand on heart absolutely ADORE this brand. I think their packaging is stunning and makes it look more expensive than it is. More importantly the quality of the products are second to none. I have used 99% of what they have available and I have yet to find something I don't like. It is very hard for me to single out a few of my favourite NOTE products but if I had to I would say the NOTE Long Lash Mascara, the NOTE Full Coverage Concealer and the NOTE BB Cream.

You can find your nearest NOTE stockist in the about section of their Facebook page here.

I have been using Catrice for years and years and would regularly have recommended their products when I worked in pharmacies. One thing I find about them is the are fantastic for keeping up with trends. If for example a high end brand comes up with a new and quirky idea you can be sure Catrice will almost always follow suit with a budget version. Their mascaras are always very popular and so are their foundations. I used to love one called Nude Illusion and wrote about it many times on here but it got discontinued. Why Catrice Cosmetics whyyyy? A few of my favourites are the little camouflage cream concealer pots, the HD Liquid Coverage foundation and the purple glam and doll mascara.

Catrice is available in selected pharmacies nationwide and in Penneys.
Next up is Essence Cosmetics. I feel like people are quick to dismiss Essence purely because it is sooooo affordable, I don't like to say cheap because I feel like it lessens the products. Anyway in my opinion Essence Cosmetics have some really good hidden gems in their range. The blushers are beautiful. They are silky soft and super pigmented. I used to wear one of their foundations in college and I loved it. I actually must pick it up again. Another reason I like them is their nail polish and not because I rate the quality but because I think if you were going to a wedding and needed an odd colour to match an outfit or if you were someone who wouldn't usually painted your nails they are so inexpensive.

I like Makeup Revolution for a few reasons. I think they make an amazing gifting brand if you are looking for a gift for a makeup lover. Again from my days in pharmacies I am all too familiar with making gift hampers and the Makeup Revolution palettes are IDEAL for it. They are good quality first and foremost, they are big so they take up room in the basket and they are super affordable!! I love their setting sprays and the vivid baked highlighter in golden lights literally glows! I also really liked their golden sugar highlighting palette but it is so popular it is often very hard to get. They are a brand to watch at Christmas time because they usually do the most amazing limited edition brush sets, contour kits, advent calenders etc.

Sleek is another budget brand that has a lot of palettes. They have a huge range of eyeshadow palettes from nudes and browns to bright and vivid shades. They have Face Form palettes which contain a bronzer, blush and highlight making it super handy for the handbag. They also have the most AMAZING highlighter palettes. The Solstice palette in particular is stunning!! Another product I love is their Matte Me Lip Creams because they literally do not budge, Shabby Chic is probably my favourite shade. Overall Sleek is a really good budget brand with chic, minimal but striking packaging.

That is just some of my favourite budget makeup brands. I would love to know what yours are.
