ZOEVA Cocoa Blend Palette | First Impressions & Swatches

So earlier today I got a press release to let me know that ZOEVA was going to be launching instore and online to Arnotts this September. It reminded me that I have the ZOEVA Cocoa Blend eyeshadow palette in my makeup drawers for almost a year now and haven't yet used it. Like that is a sin!!

I bought my ZOEVA Cocoa Blend eyeshadow palette almost a year ago from Beauty Bay for €19.70 which is pretty good for a palette with 10 shades. When you break it down it's less than €2.00 per shade. I honestly have no idea how I haven't gotten around to using it yet but when I took it out and looked at it I got all excited so decided to do a first impressions and swatches blog post. I must stress that this is not my review. I want to use it for a few weeks and test it out properly before coming back to ye with a proper review.

The swatches above are from the top row of the palette. Bitter Start and Sweeter End are quite light but I am planning on using them for base shades. They look like the would be ideal for that. Warm Tones is a really nice cranberry shade with a slight shimmer to it, it will be gorgeous for the Autumn Winter months. Subtle Blend is a metallic bronze brown shade. I feel like it will make a fab lash it on all over the lid, blend it out and you're done shade. Lastly but not least we have Beans Are White is a really, really deep matte brown. It is so dark it's almost black. It will be handy for making eye looks more smokey.

I swatched the bottom row kind of sideways so apologies for that. Pure Canache is a stunning metallic gold shade that is going to be gorgeous on the lid. Substitute For Love didn't excite me in the palette but when I swatched it I realised it will be brilliant as a transition shade. Freshly Toasted let me down with an absolute bang!! Out of all the shades in the palette it really stood out to me but it didn't swatch very well at all. It didn't feel like it had the same buttery texture as the other shades in my opinion. However we won't panic yet as it could be gorgeous on. Infusion is a really dark brown shade with flecks of golden glitter going through it and Delicate Adicity is kind of a mauve berry toned shade which will be stunning on green eyes.

In a nutshell I am very happy with my purchase and I cannot wait to give it a proper go and let you all know what kind of looks I create and how I get on with it. If you can't wait until September to pick it up in Arnotts it is available here on Beauty Bay.
