BRAND SPOTLIGHT | Benefit Cosmetics

Hello lovelies.

Today's blog post is the first in a series entitled ''Brand Spotlight'' and this particular (as I am sure you have guessed by now) is focussing on one of my favourite brands, Benefit Cosmetics.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Benefit's infamous Hoola Bronzer has been a staple in my makeup bag pretty much since I started wearing makeup as a teenager. It is a gorgeous soft brown, matte bronzer that I go back to again and again. I recently done a big clear out of my makeup collection and I found five Hoola's...FIVE...like that is crazy!! Not only is Hoola deadly for bronzing and contouring but it also looks amazing on the eyes as a matte eyeshadow to.

As you can see from my picture, my Benefit Hoola Bronzer is much loved!!

Benefit Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel

As part of their recent #BenefitHeroes campaign Benefit sent me out their Gimme Brow in shade number 3 (medium) to try out. When it arrived I was a bit sceptical because I own a LOAD of similar eyebrow products. I suppose I wondered how it would fair out in comparison to it's more affordable competition. Well, hand on heart Gimme Brow is head and shoulders above the others. Like ohhh my God it is a total lifesaver for time in the mornings. It is way better and waaay more pigmented that any of the other ones I have used.

So I use my Benefit Gimme Brow in two ways. On a day when I am wearing very little or even no makeup I will brush on my Gimme Brow first against and then with my brow hair and it just fills them in perfectly for a natural look. Other days when I am doing my full proper brow routine I will brush the Gimme Brow into my brows after I have filled them in using Browzings and it sets it in place for the whole day.

Benefit They're Real Mascara

I really, really like this mascara for a number of reasons. Firstly I LOVE the size and shape of the applicator brush, it is small enough to comfortably get to the very root of your lashes but not so small that it takes an age to apply. The little bulb at the end of the applicator makes it easy to grab even the teeny tiny lashes. They're Real is intensely black with just one layer and honestly it gave me eyelashes I didn't even know existed particularly on my bottom lashes. When it comes to removal I always use a good quality eye makeup remover.

Benefit Porefessional Face Primer

So I have oily skin and a common trait with oily skin is really visible, open pores. I remember when Porefessional was launched and I rushed out to buy it. At the time I was living near a counter and I nearly knocked the sales assistant down to get to it. After reading what it claimed to do I literally couldn't wait to get it because it was literally going to solve all my open pore dilemmas. I bought it (and a new Hoola), brought it home and couldn't wait to use it.

So prior to applying foundation I use my Porefessional. I dab a small amount using my ring finger to my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Sometimes if I feel my skin is extra oily I will apply it all over but 90% of the time this is where I apply it. It really helps to both minimalise the appearance of visible pores and combat shine.

Tomorrow I am going to a top secret event with Benefit Cosmetics and I am SO EXCITED. I will be snapchatting throughout the day so make sure you are following me!
