Tontouring With Cocoa Brown

It is time for Kim Kardashian and her contouring to step aside because Marissa Carter and her tontouring are in town!! So what is tontouring? Tontouring is basically contouring but with false tan. It's sounds messy but it really isn't and once you get the hang of it you will be addicted.

To achieve the perfect tontour you will need the following...
  • Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Moisturiser. (RRP €5.95)
  • Either Cocoa Brown 1Hour Mousse or Cocoa Brown 1Hour Mousse in Dark for those of you who like a deep colour. (RRP €7.95)
  • A Cocoa Brown Deluxe Double Sided Velour Tanning Mitt. (RRP €5.99)
  • Finally you will need a good stippling brush. The one I like to use is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

To begin apply your Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze all over your face and neck. This will give you a gorgeous base colour. There is no need to be nervous applying this product to your face because it is oil free and non-comodegenic meaning it won't block your pores or cause break outs. Also the colour is gives your face is incredibly natural and subtle so I stress to you do not be nervous.

Next you need to grab your Cocoa Brown Double Sided Velour Tanning Mitt and apply a small amount of your chosen mousse (1Hour or 1Hour Dark) onto it. After that you need to dip a stippling brush of your choice into the tan and apply it to your face. I recommend using small amounts to begin with and keep building on it until you reach your desired effect.

Like the diagram below shows I usually tontour my cheekbones, the sides of my nose, my jawline, my temples and right across the very top of my forehead. By contouring or tontouring the aim is to bring back something we don't like. For example I feel like I have quite a big nose so by tontouring the sides of my nose it gives it the illusion of it being slimmer.

The next step is definitely the most important one and it is to blend. You need to blend the product in really, really well to get the perfect naturally contoured look. The blending of the mousse really is the make or break point of your tontour so really buff it in well.

Because I am a mammy, I work full time and I blog I don't always have time or energy to apply a full face of makeup so by tontouring only once a week I can be confident in knowing that I atleast have a base colour thanks to my Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze and a perfect tontour also. The fact that your only really need to tontour once a week takes the headache out of messing around with conceallers or powders. All I have to do is apply a little concealler, my brows, mascara and a lip colour for an effortless and casual everyday makeup look.

These photos were taken the morning after I done my tontour. I used the Sleek Brow Kit, a decent amount of Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer to cover dark circles and redness, Rimmel Match Perfection Powder, Lancome Volume-a-Porter Mascara, Urban Decay Stark Naked lipstick and Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

Stocking Fillers For Beauty Addicts

With the festive season just around the corner I decided to do a quick post on some stocking fillers to suit all budgets for beauty addicts!

The Cocoa Brown Instant Tan Bronzing Gels in matte and shimmer were without doubt the most hyped products of 2015! Any fake tan wearer would only love to find these in their stocking and the best part is the cost only €6.99 each!

You can read my review of the Cocoa Brown Bronzing Gels HERE.
You can purchase them in Penneys, most pharmacies and online HERE.
Red: Rudolph's Mistress
Green: Poison Apple

Suzanne Jackson aka. So Sue Me has released three limited edition Christmas shades to her collection. The two pictured above are my favourites and at €7.99 each are the perfect stocking filler for anyone who loves nail polish. How cute would it be to present to someone in a little basket with a nail file and some nail polish remover... I am all about the presentation.

You can read my review of the SOSU By Suzanne Jackson Gel Nail Polish HERE.
You can purchase them in Penneys and most pharmacies nationwide. Click HERE for a full list of stockists.

The Pippa for Blank Canvas Cosmetics palette is something that every makeup lover needs in her life. It contains six eyeshadows, a highlighter, a blusher and a bronzer all in once slim but durable palette. It is perfect for popping in your handbag or for travelling. My favourite two products are the highlight 'LULU' and the eyeshadow 'TOBI'. I have a Pippa palette and would still be over the moon to find one of these Christmas morning.

At the moment the Pippa palette is out of stock on Pippa.ie but you can purchase it from Blank Canvas Cosmetics for €34.99 right HERE.
Can a girl ever have enough makeup brushes? I don't think so!! I picked up this Real Techniques Core Collection brush set for only €14.99 a few weeks back and I use three of the four brushes daily.

From left to right brush number one is the perfect size and shape for contouring particularly under the cheek bone. I love using the second brush from the left for either applying concealer or for building up foundation coverage. The next brush I don't use much but when I do I use it do either redefine my brows or tide up my lipline. Last but not least is the buffing brush which when used with a liquid or cream foundation it gives a really flawless finish.

It is quite difficult for me to put a price on these brushes or any of the Real Techniques brushes because they are constantly on offer in Boots...just keep an eye out for the best one! At the moment the Real Techniques Core Collection set is retailing at €28.99 and is part of the infamous Boots 3 for 2 offer. Shop HERE.

The limited edition Urban Decay Vice4 palette is an amazing addition to any makeup collection. The pigment is incredible, they don't crease and there is minimal fallout. This palette is limited edition so if you want to get it then act fast!!

You can read my full review of the Urban Decay Vice4 palette HERE.
The Vice4 palette can be purchased from House Of Fraser Dundrum, Debenhams department stores and online HERE.

That ladies and gentlemen is my first Christmas gift guide of 2015. I hope you liked it and got some ideas or inspiration from it.

Urban Decay Stark Naked Lips

I don't think there is a woman in this world who isn't on the lookout for the one. The one that they fall in love with at first sight. The one that makes them feel happy and complete. The one they can always count on and rely on... I'm talking about nude lipstick obviously!!

Pictured wearing the Urban Decay Stark Naked 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil and the matte lipstick. My eyes were done using the limited edition Urban Decay Vice4 palette.

Recently I found the one in Urban Decay Stark Naked. Stark Naked is part of the latest Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick Collection and it is a gorgeous opaque muted medium brown with rosey undertones. The pigmentation of this lipstick is insane. It gives you full coverage in just one swipe so no applying back and forward to build up to the right shade. Unlike other matte lipsticks it applies really creamy and doesn't dry out the lips either. With ingredients like shea butter and beeswax it is almost like a treatment for your lips while you wear it.
This is the full Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick collection.

The longevity of Urban Decay Stark Naked is really, really good but to increase the wear time I recommend teaming it with the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in the same shade. This creamy lip pencil not only defines the lips but it primes them prior to lipstick application. I love using this lip pencil to overdraw my lips to give a subtle but effective illusion of bigger, fuller lips.

Here is a little step by step guide on how I achieve fuller lips using Urban Decay Stark Naked products.

I just LOVE how Stark Naked look with a brown and burnt orange smokey eye...my fav!

The Stark Naked lipstick retails at €19.00 and the 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil costs €18.50. Both of these products are available from Debenhams Department Stores, www.debenhams.ie and House Of Fraser, Dundrum Town Centre.
