PENNEYS HAUL | The A/W Wardrobe Begins...

Happy Sunday everyone!

So this morning I woke up in foul humor and the crap Irish weather wasn't helping so I thought flip this I need retail therapy. Summer is well and truly over so I decided it was time to start working on my Autumn Winter wardrobe.

I headed into Penneys in Cork city with my better half and little baba. Between the three of us we done a dacent bit of damage but we don't get out much to be fair to us. Well, that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Are these scarves the cutest or are they the cutest? Ridiculous that I am buying and wearing a huge scarf in July but what can we do?!

Tartan Scarf €6.00 each.
I grabbed this candle purely because it is purple and I want it to match my new sitting room but it smells really nice and is currently lit beside me.

Opia Winter Fig & Berries Candle €6.00 aprox.

This is gonna be my new everyday handbag... I think. I love the style, size and colour.

Camel Fringed Bag €12.00
Nothing too exciting, just your standard navy cardigan.

Such a bargain at only €8.00!!

I saw my boyfriend's sister wearing these during the week and I loved them. I had to have them.

Dark Denim Ripped Jeans €9.00
I picked up this little black number for kind of casual everyday looks in a few weeks time. I thought it would be gorge with some 10 denier tights, boots and a big scarf.

Black Dress €13.00
Is it even possible to walk into Penneys and not buy these shoes? It seems that everyone either has or wants them. They had a crazy, ridiculous amount of them in stock in Cork a staff member told me they are forever filling the stand.

Black Lace Up Pumps €13.00
On my landing window I have the cutest picture of my daddy, Josh and Jake (my three favourite men) so I bought this to go beside it. It smells great although it is for display purpose only.

Opia Vanilla Candle €3.00

Can a girl ever have too many tops? Eh, no!!

Terracotta Cami Top €5.00
Navy Vest €3.00

Other than what is mentioned above I got some underwear, pyjamas, hairclips etc. you know the usual Penneys purchases.

We got a lot of gorgeous baby clothes for Jake which I will do in a seperate post if anyone is interested in that let me know.

Brand Spotlight | The Vintage Cosmetics Company

What is it? A 1950's inspired cosmetic company.

Where can I buy it? www.vintagecosmeticscompany.com

I can honestly say hand on heart that The Vintage Cosmetics Company is the girliest products that have ever come through my letter box. The packaging is super cute. It is very shabby chic and almost reminds me of Cath Kidston.

As you can see above the parcel contained eyelashes, an eyelash curler and a concealer brush so a nice little variety of products.

Me being eyelash obsessed I just had to use these first. I was sent The Vintage Cosmetics Company ''Betty'' lashes which are perfect for hooded eyes or if you love a winged eyeliner. They are quite natural looking but give a gorgeous, dramatic longer look towards the outer corners. This helps to elongate the eye and create an almond shape. I like them because they really open up my eyes and they are suitable for both day and night time wear.

I am wearing the Rimmel London Provocalips in ''Little Minx'' here.
I reused these lashes atleast ten times and they looked great each time. In order to make them last I don't apply a lot of mascara to them and I gently remove the adhesive after each use.

For a closer look at the ''Betty'' lashes click HERE!

The Vintage Cosmetics concealer brush is simply a must have. It is the perfect size and shape for cleaning up a bold lip line or for perfecting a winged eyeliner. The things I use it most for is highlighting my brow bone with a cream concealer and for applying a concealer to my cupid's bow to make my lips look bigger.

You can check out the concealer brush right HERE.

Last but not least I trialed The Vintage Cosmetics Company eyelash curler. I am a little bit ashamed to admit it but before this curler arrived I never really bothered to curl my eyelashes. Like I would do it for an occasion but not everyday. This one was to pretty not to use. The rose gold looked amazing.
Eyelash Curlers - Rose Gold
It is no secret that I am a false eyelash addict but that is for work, events, nights out etc. If I am looking after Jake or just doing some errands I usually only wear mascara on my natural lashes. To be honest I feel bare without my falsies but the eyelash curler dramatically improves how full and long my lashes look.

In order to curl your lashes all you need to do is position the curler midway along your lashes with your lashes between the clamps, close and hold. Hold this in place for a few seconds and then gently release the clamps and you will have beautiful curly lashes.

For an even more dramatic effect you could gently heat the curler using a low setting on your hairdryer. You want the curlers to be warm but not hot. Just follow the steps above and apply mascara to finish. Simples!!

You can purchase The Vintage Cosmetics Company eyelash curlers right HERE.

I am 100% going to put in an order for more of The Vintage Cosmetics Company eyelashes. Considering the price the quality of the eyelashes is amazing and I get great use out of them. I might pick up another one or two brushes also so keep an eye out on my social media sites for them.

Not only is delivery in Europe FREE but at moment you can get 25% off your order by entering ''SAVE25'' into the coupon section of the checkout process.

If you would like to see more from The Vintage Cosmetics Company you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram

Blogger Tag | 10 Thing's You Didn't Know About Me

So now and again these kind of posts pop up where another blogger has tagged me in a post usually of questions to answer and they are a lot of fun. I don't always get around to actually doing them but I liked the questions that Rebecca from Rainbows And Fairydust Blog asked and I thought it would be a handy way for you all to get to know me a little better.

1. Why did you start blogging?

Coming from a beauty background and working in the beauty and retail industry I thought writing a blog would be a good way to get some helpful and useful tips out there.

2. If I could only use three makeup products for the rest of my life what would they be?

Oooooh this is a tough one... Only three? Yikes!! One item I am sure of is the La Roche Posay Toleraine Teint foundation. I have been using this on and off for years and I LOVE IT. It has amazing coverage and incredible longevity. My second product would be false eyelashes because my eyeballs would be bald without them!! Finally, even though it is skincare and not makeup I just could not function without my Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. This stuff is magic for making your skin feel soft and smooth and look a lot brighter and healthier.

3. Coffee or tea?

My first drink of the day is always a coffee. I love a caramel late... I know I am good to myself! For the remainder of the day then it would be tea.

4. Favourite food?

My favourite food is the Chicago Town pizzas with the sauce in the crust. They are so yummy!! Dunnes Stores often do a deal called ''Big Night In'' where you can get a Chicago Town pizza, a box of ice creams and then either wedges or chicken dippers with it for only €5!!! I love it and hate it at the same time.

5. Favourite place you have ever visited?

My favourite place in the whole wide world (besides home obviously) is Barcelona. I met my better half Josh in Barcelona in 2007 and it was love at first sight with both him and the city. I'm such a soppy git I know but whatevs. We have gone back on holiday since and there is so much to see and do.

I am also just going to throw in here that me and my sisters recently visited the Japanese Gardens in Kildare and OH MY GOD it is so beautiful there. It is honestly like another world. We didn't get to see it all because it was huge and we arrived late afternoon but I cannot wait to go back again. If I lived closer I would be in there everyday. The staff would be like ''Oh jaysus here's yer wan coming again!!''

Dress: Penneys €5
Shirt: Penneys €17
Sandals: Penneys but verrrry old.

6. My number one staple wardrobe piece...

at the moment it is my tulle skirt from Cari's Closet. So okay it isn't everyday you are gonna go full on Carrie Bradshaw and wear a tulle skirt but when I do get to wear it I feel like a princess lol!! I wanted it for so soooo long and finally got it back in February. I think the fact that I longed after it makes me appreciate having it so much more now.

Top: New Look €4.99
Skirt: Cari's Closet €69.00
Shoes: Savida €10 but they are sold out
Bracelets: Penneys €1.50
For anyone who is currently shopping around for a tulle skirt I highly recommend Cari's Closet. I have seen lots bought off eBay and other similar sites and there is a reason they are a lot cheaper. They are still pretty but my god they must be on a tulle skirt slimming world programme because there is very little fullness to most of them. However it does depend on your style and what kind of look you want. If you want full on Disney princess then you need to check out Cari's Closet.

7. How would I describe my style?

I would describe my style as achievable!! I know that sounds odd but let me explain. When I post my outfit of the day or OOTD posts as they are known in the blogging world to my social media sites I like people to see something that they could fly into town and pick up.

Dress: Heatons €18.00
Sandals: Penneys but very old
Top: NewLook €4.99
Trousers: Swear By Fashion €24.95
Gold Bangle: Swear By Fashion €8.95
Handbag: Penneys €5.00

8. A place you have never been to but would like to visit...

A place I haven't been to but would like to visit would be the Bora Bora Islands. Have you ever done a google image search on these islands? They look amazing!!! I can just see myself there chilling in a hammock with my laptop blogging away. It is 100% on my honeymoon wish list.

PS. I am NOT engaged!!

9. Your favourite highstreet shop.

Penneys...totes obvs! If it wasn't for Penneys I wouldn't have a stitch. I would be going around in the nip half the time.

10. Your favourite makeup product.

I mentioned it above but my favourite makeup product at the mo is my La Roche Posay Toleraine Teint foundation. The base of any makeup look is just so important to get right and this foundation never lets me down.

I am going to do more Q&A posts in the future because this one was so much fun. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed working on it. Thanks again to Rebecca for the tag and I will chat you all soon. Have a great week.

Wet n Wild | Lip Products I Am Lovin'

A few weeks ago the lovely Caroline from The Publicity Loft spoiled me with some Wet n Wild products. I hadn't actually tried much from this LA brand before so I was super excited to give them a go. If there is one thing I couldn't live without it is lipsticks, lipgloss etc. It is a woman's prerogative that we own atleast a couple of hundred in our life time!

I am going to start with my favourite one of the bunch which is the Wet n Wild Balm Stain Moisturising Lip Colour in shade E129 Nudist Colony. As the name suggests it is incredibly moisturising. It is like a lip balm with a really good, intense colour. I found it just as moisturising as Vaseline only not at all thick or gloopy like Vaseline, making it perfect for anyone with dry lips.

The use of the word stain in the name implys that it will last. I wore it to work and I found that it lasted well. It survived cups of tea but did need a little touch up after eating a big lunch but to be fair what lip colour doesn't?

It got a few test runs and I loved it each time. I got lots of compliments with it and to every girl out there looking for the perfect nude lip colour this might just be the one. You can pick it up for €3.99 in all Wet N Wild stockists

Up next is the Wet n Wild Glossy Gloss Lip Gel in E313A Glass-T Off, which is the red shade and E311A Glass Confusion, the pink shade.

These bad boys made my lips look HUGE. Like I am talking Kylie Jenner style. Usually I would sway towards matte lip products but because I have dry lips and a desperate habit of biting them matte lipsticks aren't always the best choice for me, atleast not for everyday wear.

These are super easy to apply and give a good strong colour straight away. Being a gel consistency they do apply a little bit thicker than the Balm Stain mentioned above but that's okay, that's what gives you lips a little oomph to make them look fuller and super glossy.

I LOVE applying these to the centre of my lips to draw attention and light to there and to give the illusion of fuller lips. They are definetely a handy little bit of kit to have in your handbag. The glossy shine is stunning on a sunny day. They actually remind me so much of the Lancome Juicy Tubes. At €2.99 each they are most definitely cheaper than any dacent lip fillers out there.

Can ye even believe the colour payoff above is from a lip balm? It's gorgeous. When I started this review I said that the nude Balm Stain was my favourite but I am starting to doubt that now because I am now remembering how much I love this Wet N Wild Juicy Lip Balm which is cherry scented, one of my fav scents ever!!

This lip balms smells AMAZING!! Like so good that I am worried I might take a bite out of it soon. It is gorgeous on it's own and ideal for under a red lippie to keep your lips hydrated and happy.

Along with the cherry scented lip balm I received a watermelon one, which to be honest I didn't love. I have never ever liked the smell or taste of watermelon but that's just me being a fussy nelly. I gave it to my sister and she loved it. She has since picked up the cherry one. That one I wouldn't part with!! If you like watermelon then go for it!! These guys retail at a very affordable €4.49 each.

Last but not least is the Wet n Wild Megaslicks Lip Gloss. These guys are great for no makeup or very natural makeup days. They are really shiny and make your lips look great with minimal effort. They are also super easy to reapply, you don't need to go concentrating on getting a super straight line like with a lipstick. They smell really good AND they are only €2.99 each. What a bargain!!

If you fancy trying out some Wet N Wild products for yourself than you can find your nearest stockist by clicking HERE.

If like me you are a Facebook addict you can 'like' Wet N Wild HERE and their Twitter handle is @WetnWildIRL.

Lots of love.

Life Update

Hi everyone!!

This is my first proper blog post in 24 days...how crazy is that?? So you're probably wondering where I was. Well it all started with my little man being unwell and spending a few days in hospital. He is perfectly fine now and it wasn't anything to serious but it drained me emotionally and physically. I ended up being really sick myself. I had an awful tummy bug and my muscles just ached all over my body.

I will be totally honest and hold my hands up and admit that for those few days I completely lost my blogging mojo. I was so weak and tired, my hair looked like shit, my skin went cray cray and I just wasn't able. Being a mammy, blogging and working full time is no joke. 99% of the time I am on the ball and I thrive on being busy but I needed some time to recover, unwind and relax.

When I began feeling better I wasn't even sure what to do with myself. I felt I had so much to do I didn't even know where to start. I am one of those women who just has to be doing something although I think most mammys are. I became obsessed with home decor and gardening which I have never really had an interest in before which was so random.

What really picked me back up was the love and messages from my followers. So many of you noticed the decrease in my online activity and were really concerned about my well being...and Jake's which was so cute. I could have forced myself to post to my social media websites and website. I could have fired up random blog posts but that wouldn't be me and definetely isn't what Lipstick And Louboutins is about. I want my personality to shine through my blog. I want you all to feel like you know me and to always make you guys feel welcome on my blog. Maybe that is the mammy in me, I'm not sure but I feel like I know you guys. I often see the same names pop up over and over again. I see every like, comment and message wheter they be the good, bad or indifferent and I LOVE interacting with my followers.

If you are wondering why I am sharing all this with you I suppose it is because I feel like I owe you a little update on what has been going and an apology of sorts for being absent. If you find yourself going through a similar slump don't worry, all of a sudden you will feel amazing again. My advice would be to talk!! Talk to a family member or a friend. If you don't feel like talking then ignore the world and have some you time. Put on some tan, go get a manicure or a blowdry, go for a walk, spend two days under a duvet eating crap and watching Netflix or do whatever it is that will make you happy again. Ride it out and then give life hell!!

To finish on a positive note I want to give you all a little update on my gorgeous son, Jake. So on the 15th of July Jake will be nine months old. How crazy is that?? I feel like it was only last week I was uploading my maternity fashion and bump photos. He has started to crawl and has been saying dada for weeks now. Typical!! Hopefully mama will be next!! He has five teeth now which is quite a lot for his age I'm being told but all babas are different. So far he is pretty much unphased by the dreaded teething thank God!!!

Jake is the love of my life. I could never get bored of playing with him, looking after him or loving him. When I go to bed at night nothing is more relaxing than cuddling up to Josh and falling asleep looking at and listening to Jake sleeping and snoring. I love my little family so much!!

To sum up I AM BACK and ready to take on the world. Thank you all for being so amazing and for taking the time to read my thoughts and follow my blog.
