Monthly Favourites | April '15

Hi everyone!!
I hope you all had a great month. I had a busy one as usual. I had a few events, I visited my family in Offaly, work, Jake and so many other things kept me going. I haven't been feeling well for a while now and in typical Melissa fashion I put off going to my doctor and just kept plodding on. However saying that I just felt so weak and dizzy the other day and my headaches got so intense that I HAD to go!! Turns out my iron levels are outrageously low and also my eyesight is a bit dodge. I never expected that. I think I am gonna more than likely maybe need glasses but I have an eye test booked so yeah that's why I have been so unwell lately...

ANYWAYS...

SoSu Gel Nail Polish
So kicking off my April '15 monthly favourites is the stunning SoSu by SJ gel nail polish. Suzanne drew on her inspiration from her followers and her experience as a beautician to create her first product in the SoSu range. It is a gel nail polish which when used with a base and top coat will guarantee high shine and chip free nails for up to seven days. I picked up to shades the day they were launched, 'Rock Candy' and 'Boss Bitch'. I was over the moon when Suzanne shared my nail photo across her social media sites. It was insane. It got 1,500 likes and counting...unreal!!

'Rock Candy' (left) and 'Boss Bitch' (right)
I added a cute, little handpainted pout to represent Lipstick And Louboutins Blog!!

I was lucky enough to be invited by Suzanne to attend the launch of her new brand at the uber stylish 10 Ormond Quay, Dublin. I had the best time. You can read all the details on the event including details on what I wore HERE.

I don't know why but I LOVE the photo infront of the branding at events.
TanOrganic Tanning Oil
This month I used the TanOrganic tanning oil for the first time ever and I was so impressed. It was really easy to apply and unlike most oils it dried into my skin quite fast. The first layer gave a beautiful, subtle colour which developed a little over the day and the second layer I applied gave it my skin a gorgeous, bronzed glow. I wore this tan to the SoSu by SJ launch and I took a massive risk wearing a tan that I have never used before but it totally paid off. I loved the results and I got so many compliments.

I LOVE that this tan is 100% eco friendly!!
I took this picture at The Fitzsimons Hotel in Temple Bar where I stayed last Thursday night.
It is also worth nothing that TanOrganic tanning oil is the world's first certified eco friendly fake tan. How impressive is that??

V05 Plump It Up Dry Backcombing Spray

also this month I have been using and loving the VO5 hair plump spray. I recently chopped about six inches off my hair so I needed something to give it volume and bounce and to make styling it super easy particularally in the mornings. Being a busy mum I dont always have the time to spend on my hair.

At first I wasnt sure about this product but then realised I was using it wrong. I was applying it to my roots and then backcombing and I never got great results. I had heard soooo many positive things about it that eventually I was like right I am obviously doing something wrong! What you need to do it blowdry your hair as normal, use the spray all over and then use your fingers to press it into place. It is so easy and so effective!

I actually only ended up with this product because I sent Josh to Boots in Mallow for backcombing spray and the silly div came home with this. Anyways it's just as well because this is 100 times easier to use and soooo much easier to get out of my hair.

This product smells ah-mazing!!

Catrice Nude Purism Eye Colour Quattro C 02 Taupe-less
Catrice Cosmetics is an affordable brand that I really love. The quality of their product is crazy good for the price tag. This eyeshadow palette is from one of their latest limited edition ranges and it is just so stunning. The rosy pink shade isn't a colour I would normally go for but when applied all over the eyelid with the paler nude in the tear ducts it makes my eyes look wide open and really big!! I then add either of the darker shades depending on how dramatic a look I want into the crease.

I love how compact this palette is...it makes it perfect for throwing into your handbag!

Rimmel London Oh My Gloss!
Last but most defo not least in my April favourites is the gorgeous new lipgloss offering from Rimmel. Endorsed by Rita Ora, these lipgloss were always going to be a huge hit. Their edgy design, cute name and colour selection are great!! They contain both argan oil and vitamin E to give your lips some loving. They are incredibly lightweight and I am so happy to report that they are not at all sticky!! Give them a try. I promise you will love them.
These are my two favourite shades. The top one is 150 Glossaholic and the bottom one is 800 Crystal Clear.
I AM IN LOVE!!!
Soooo guys that concludes what I have been loving this month. I have a fun May planned including the next Into The West Blogger Network event and hopefully a little trip away with Josh if I am feeling better soon.

Have a great week everyone.
Thanks so much for reading!!
