REVIEW | Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess

Shortly after the release of the gorgeous Cocoa Brown Instant Tan Bronzing Gels the Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess Shimmering Dry Body Oil hit the shelves and I could not wait to use it. I love shimmer and body oils so to have the two of them combined is just amazing!! Whether you are a tan wearer or not you can use and love the Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess Shimmering Dry Oil. One thing I really love is an affordable beauty product that can be used numerous ways and the latest member to the Cocoa Brown family has many uses.

You can use your Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess Shimmering Dry Oil...

My favourite way to wear my Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess is layered over my Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Mousse in Dark. A little goes a long way with this product and considering it costs just €11.95 it is much more affordable than other shimmering dry oils on the market right now. Golden Goddess is non-greasy and quick drying making it ideal for even last minute tanning sessions.

Check out that shimmer!!

Another way I love to wear my Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess is as a highlighter to add a dewy touch to my otherwise matte makeup look. I apply a drop or two (or three) depending on what kind of effect I want to either a small stippling brush or just my fingertips and apply it to my cheekbones. As it is an oil it blends so sooo easily and because it is non comodegenic it won't block your pores or cause breakouts. Happy days!!

Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess Shimmering Dry Body Oil is fragranced with that beautiful Cocoa Brown signature Tahitian Gardenia Scent and it doesn't transfer onto clothes or bed sheets. It is without doubt one of my favourite beauty releases this year and a total must have for shimmery and glowing skin.

You can pick up the Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess Shimmering Dry Body Oil for €11.95 in Penneys at the moment and in all Cocoa Brown stockists including pharmacies and supermarkets really soon.

Top 5 Cosy Jumpers

Hey guys!!
Christmas is my favourite time of year. Everywhere just looks and feels so cosy and we get an excuse to wear lots of big warm jumpers and scarves. Today I am going to discuss my Top 3 Cosy Jumpers from just a few of my favourite online sites and stores.

I am literally wearing this jumper right now and it is so comfy and cosy. I ordered it in the camel shade which you can see HERE and it is one of my favourite purchases this Winter. I ordered this gorgeous V neck jumper in size small/medium and it is plenty big. It is meant to be worn baggy and I just know it is going to be one of my most worn items this season.

A fab website I have discovered recently is Fearless clothing. They have incredible bargains right across the board and I have this gorgeous black jumper dress on my wish list. It is perfect worn with the boots above but would also be cute with some leggings, maybe leather ones and converse. For a closer look click HERE.

One of my go to websites for affordable and quirky clothing is In The Style. In The Style features gorgeous collections from the likes of Charlotte Letitia Crosby, Lauren Pope, Binky and Billie Faiers. The oversized jumper dress featured above is from the Binky collection. It is fab worn alone but could also be worn with tights for extra cosiness. You can check it out HERE.

I love and adore the lace up detail and side split hems on this jumper. It is so girly and adds a little something extra to an otherwise plain jumper. You can pick up this jumper from ASOS right HERE.

This super cute and girly jumper is from BooHoo. I love the pastel shades and the love heart details on the elbow. It is available HERE in baby blue, baby pink and grey. BooHoo just cannot be beaten for value. They almost always have some kind of offer on or a discount code available.

I hope you guys found this post helpful. Let me know if you make a purchase.

Happy Christmas!

Lancôme // Christmas Colour Collection '15

If you are looking for a luxurious but affordable gift for a loved one or even for yourself then you need to check out the limited edition Lancôme La Palette 29 Faubourg Saint Honoré Christmas palette. Inspired by Parisian chic this €55.00 palette contains six eyeshadows, two lip colours, a lip primer, a brush and it all comes packaged in a gorgeous, durable case.

The Eyeshadows
So the eyeshadows range from a matte beige to a deep metallic purple. You have everything you need to take your eye makeup from day to night. To make your life even easier Lancôme have included to handy little guides on the mirror to help you create effortless but striking smokey eye looks.

#1: Shade number one is a really nice matte beige. I love using this shade as a base colour. Not everyone is aware but by using a base colour you can help to intensify the shades that follow. Without using a base coat any discoloration which may be present on your eyelids will be visible.

#2: Shade number two is a gorgeous shimmery gold which is your best friend for next your tear ducts and for highlighting your brow bone. It has just the right amount of sparkle.

#3: Shade number three has a definite copper look to it with just a hint of shimmer. This is beautiful for a one colour all over the lid and underneath the eye. It is fabulous combined with #2 for a quick and easy Smokey eye.

#4: Shade number four is a rose shade with grey undertones and a hint of shimmer. It is beautiful alone or also stunning when applied to the crease as a subtle transition colour. I find wearing this shade with either a baby pink or a nude lipstick really sets it off.

#5: Shade number five is a very subtle mauve shade again with shimmer. Who doesn't love a little shimmer this time of year? This shade looks really well on the outer corners of the eye blended inwards.

#6: Last but definitely not least is the deep metallic plum shade with pink shimmers. This compliments green eyes beautifully but is wearable for all eye colours.

The Lip Colours
The Lancôme Christmas palette also houses three lip products which are very cleverly hid under a gold flip lid. This is a genius idea because it prevents any cross contamination between the powder and cream products. In it you get a lip base, a cherry red and a burgundy red shade. Basically everything you need to create this seasons infamous ombré lip.

In these pictures I am wearing the slightly darker red on the right. It is a very classy and striking colour.

To create an ombré lip you will need to first apply your Lancôme lip base. This will act as a primer for your lips and ensure they stay moisturised under the matte shades. Next using the side of your Lancôme lip brush apply the darker shade to the outline of your lips and blend it inwards. Everyone's lips are different shapes and sizes but I usually do this line over a quarter of my lips. Finally using the flat of your brush you can apply the lighter lip colour and blend it into the darker shade. Ombre lips can be created using a variety of shades and combinations and it gives such a gorgeous effect and the illusion of bigger lips.

These lipsticks are creamy, highly pigmented and long lasting. The palette is worth buying for them alone. I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried them at how smoothly they applied.

No festive eye makeup is complete without a little glitter and the Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara makes the look so easy to achieve. This mascara is enriched with thousands of gold sparkles which when applied over classic black mascara leave behind a gorgeous, subtle golden shimmer.

Beginning with centre of the upper lashes all you need to do is press the wand onto the lashes next the root and use a zig zag movement from root to tip to ensure an even coverage. Repeat this step on the outer and inner corner lashes if you wish. This Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara retails at €28.50 and it is a must have for the Christmas season.

All of the products featured in this post are available from selected Lancôme counters at Department Stores now.

Thank you for reading guys. This post made me feel so festive and Christmassy.

Tontouring With Cocoa Brown

It is time for Kim Kardashian and her contouring to step aside because Marissa Carter and her tontouring are in town!! So what is tontouring? Tontouring is basically contouring but with false tan. It's sounds messy but it really isn't and once you get the hang of it you will be addicted.

To achieve the perfect tontour you will need the following...
  • Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Moisturiser. (RRP €5.95)
  • Either Cocoa Brown 1Hour Mousse or Cocoa Brown 1Hour Mousse in Dark for those of you who like a deep colour. (RRP €7.95)
  • A Cocoa Brown Deluxe Double Sided Velour Tanning Mitt. (RRP €5.99)
  • Finally you will need a good stippling brush. The one I like to use is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

To begin apply your Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze all over your face and neck. This will give you a gorgeous base colour. There is no need to be nervous applying this product to your face because it is oil free and non-comodegenic meaning it won't block your pores or cause break outs. Also the colour is gives your face is incredibly natural and subtle so I stress to you do not be nervous.

Next you need to grab your Cocoa Brown Double Sided Velour Tanning Mitt and apply a small amount of your chosen mousse (1Hour or 1Hour Dark) onto it. After that you need to dip a stippling brush of your choice into the tan and apply it to your face. I recommend using small amounts to begin with and keep building on it until you reach your desired effect.

Like the diagram below shows I usually tontour my cheekbones, the sides of my nose, my jawline, my temples and right across the very top of my forehead. By contouring or tontouring the aim is to bring back something we don't like. For example I feel like I have quite a big nose so by tontouring the sides of my nose it gives it the illusion of it being slimmer.

The next step is definitely the most important one and it is to blend. You need to blend the product in really, really well to get the perfect naturally contoured look. The blending of the mousse really is the make or break point of your tontour so really buff it in well.

Because I am a mammy, I work full time and I blog I don't always have time or energy to apply a full face of makeup so by tontouring only once a week I can be confident in knowing that I atleast have a base colour thanks to my Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze and a perfect tontour also. The fact that your only really need to tontour once a week takes the headache out of messing around with conceallers or powders. All I have to do is apply a little concealler, my brows, mascara and a lip colour for an effortless and casual everyday makeup look.

These photos were taken the morning after I done my tontour. I used the Sleek Brow Kit, a decent amount of Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer to cover dark circles and redness, Rimmel Match Perfection Powder, Lancome Volume-a-Porter Mascara, Urban Decay Stark Naked lipstick and Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
