My Pregnancy - The Third Trimester | HURRY UP BABY!!

Right now I am 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant which is a very scary thought. The time has literally flew by and we are now well and truly into the homestretch. If I'm honest I was dreading the third trimester as I heard so many awful things about how painful and uncomfortable it is but I honestly feel great...most of the time. Don't get me wrong it isn't all plain sailing and I often need some help from my amazing other half, Josh, to get off the couch or out of bed. Oh and tying shoelaces has become rocket science because I can no longer see or reach my feet!!

My cravings right now are cool pops, preferably Mr. Freeze but I'm not fussy. I've even been eating ice cubes during desperate times. If my baby is born a snowman (or snowwoman) I only have myself to blame. Unfortunately as we all know the weather has taken a turn for the worst so maxi dresses and skirts are no longer an option really. I'm raging because they were soooo comfy and easy to dress up or down. Incase you are confused yes the photo on the left does show me in jeans but they have an elasticated waist. I got them in Penneys/Primark like two years ago for €11 and they are still going strong.

My maternity leave from work is due to start very soon... (sad times)!! While I am looking forward to the break and the time to prepare for baby I will miss it big time. Anyone who knows me or even regularly follows my blog will know how much I LOVE doing nails but hey it is only temporary. My other half is praying we have a boy for two reasons, one he can corrupt to his gaming and comic book ways and two if it is male the risk of the child having a shellac manicure for its christening is much lower! (jokes obvs) I will atleast wait until she turns one!!! ;) Speaking of the babies sex I am so delighted we didn't find out what we were expecting. The not knowing makes it way more exciting. If I'm really honest the thing I'm looking forward to most is seeing Josh, my parents and my sisters cuddling and playing with the baby. I wonder how many times I will cry?? I'm an emotional wreak at the best of times with soppy stuff.

My mammy or The Fairy Grandmother as I now call her and my daddy arrived to Cork this weekend with a mountain of baby stuff and I mean A MOUNTAIN!! Mammy 100% went into the baby aisle of Dunnes and/or Tesco and just grabbed one of at least everything. It's very overwhelming and really really amazing to see how much love they already have and how excited they are for babies arrival. I can tell already it's going to be spoiled rotten. Josh and I spent a good hour today packing it all away into the baby press. Almost half of our wardrobe is now baby clothes, supplies etc but it's great. I love having a root sometimes and smelling all the Johnson's products and looking at how tiny the little outfits are. It's a little scary that something so tiny will be wearing them.

Baby kicks have gotten ten times stronger and are often straight into the ribs. This can be a little uncomfortable at times but it is still a wonderful feeling. It's weird to think that there is a little person hiding away in there just waiting to meet us. I don't want to blather on to much because I don't want to bore you guys but if any of you have any questions regarding pregnancy you can email me at lipstickandlouboutinsblog@gmail.com or you can private message our facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/lipstickandlouboutinsblog

REVIEW | Catrice Cosmetics Nude Illusion Make-Up

Hi guys!!!

Sorry for the lack of blog posts lately. I have been on antibiotics all week which combined with pregnancy is an absolute minus craic. Todays blog post is my review of Catrice Cosmetics Nude Illusion Make-Up.

So I was in bad need of a new foundation. I had literally scraped the sides of my previous one however with baby on the way I didn't want to spend to much money. I went to my local pharmacy and their in-store makeup artist was all rave about this new foundation from Catrice Cosmetics. She told me it's meant to give the exact same results as Armani Luminous Silk for less than a quarter of the price. That sold it for me and I couldn't wait to get home and try it. I had high hopes and hey it only cost €8.49 so it didn't exactly break the bank if I don't like it.

I primed my skin using Maybelline Baby Skin and then used my Real Techniques expert face brush to buff on my new makeup. It is dispensed via a pump and has quite a thick consistency but still spreads really really well despite this. It is completely lightweight on your skin and gives medium to full coverage. It gives a gorgeous luminous look to your skin while at the same time being completely matte. I know that sounds a bit contradictory but it really does glow without looking shiny or oily.

The pictures below were taken by me today to show you all the results. The first one was me and 8:30ish this morning and the second is me at 7pm this evening. Excuse the quality of the photos, I was on the train and was trying to discretely take shameless selfies!!! (Not an easy task)!

8am this morning!

7pm this evening...HELLO WEEKEND!!
As you can see the foundation did not budge. I had literally no time to even look in a mirror I was that busy never mind do touch ups. I am so glad this budget but foundation lived up to my expectations. IF I had to say something negative it would be that the colour selection isn't the best. There is five, maximum six shades to chose from which isn't a lot really. The one I purchased it 030 Nude Beige and I love it. I can't wait to put it on again tomorrow... I'm such a loser!!

You NEED to have this in your life!!!

As always thank you for reading my ramblings and let me know if you have or do try it out. Have a fab weekend guys!!

NEW CID Ultimate Lash Defining Mascara Review

Following on from my last blog post ''Mel's Fav Mascaras'' is this review of new cid cosmetics ultimate lash defining mascara. A few months back I went to a demo for this brand in the River Lee Hotel, Cork and was really impressed however I never actually got around to purchasing any of their products. I was waiting for my other half to finish work so I bought a magazine to kill the time. I picked up this months Cosmopolitan purely because there was a FREE new cid mascara with it. Who doesn't love a freebie???

So this morning while I was doing my makeup I took some before during and after photos to show you ladies the results. My first impressions were that the mascara design itself was very simple but really professional looking. This brush itself is quite large, this is something I'm not used to as I usually use a much smaller one but I really liked it. It is blacker than black! It gave me beautiful full and long lashes which is exactly what you want in a mascara. After wearing it all day I can confirm that it doesn't give you those annoying black smears under your eyes or go dry and flake off. For best results get the brush right to the root of your lashes, wiggle and lift the brush upwards.

The whole idea of new cid cosmetics is to change the way women look at makeup. Lots of the products are designed in such a way that they are both compact and multi use which is so handy on a night out. For example their i-gloss is a lipgloss with a mirror and a light, how amazing is that? Their i-define is a lip liner and lip brush and their i-pout is a light up lipstick with a mirror. I need to try these bad boys!!

Check out the full range of New cid cosmetics on their website http://www.newcidcosmetics.com/

Let me know if you give the mascara or any other products from them a go!
Thank you for reading!!

Mel's Fav Mascaras

MAC Extended Play Gigiblack Lash is one of my favourite mascaras. The small and narrow brush makes it really easy to get to the root of your lashes for full coverage and fabulous lashes. It gives really good length and volume and despite it's small appearance it lasts aaaages. They say you should replace your mascara every three months but OMG I don't know about you but I would be so broke if I had to do that!! This is definitely an affordable and super effective product.

Next up is the infamous Benefit They're Real! Mascara. Being totally honest I have an extremely love hate relationship with this one. I love the results it gives but my god it is soooo difficult to remove. It is very stubborn but gives amazingly long lashes. It comes in a little mini version for half the price if you want to try it out before buying the full size.

Catrice Glamour Doll Volume Mascara is surprisingly good considering how affordable it is. The wand is cleverly designed and gives great volume and length with absolutely no clumping. Another huge plus is that is doesn't go dry and flake away like most mascaras do. The brush or wand part is made of a bouncy silicone which means it won't clog as easy as other mascaras.
